State Champs: April 27 & 28, 2019 - Oceanside Harbor South Jetty
Thank You Marco Surfers for an especially great year! We are a young team and you competed like champions. As a TEAM we reached 3rd place for our OC Division and 6th overall in the State Championships consisting of all 23 SSS Middle Schools! Indie Hoffman won both the Orange County Division 1 Longboard Title and State Girls Longboard Title with Rilynn Baker as runner-up in OC Division 1. Matthew Chance made the final at State Championships and got 4th place. Both our Girls and Boys Longboard teams scored 2nd overall in the State Rankings. Our Girls Won the OC Division 1 Longboard team title! Baron Banuelos in Longboard, Luke Gillion in Co-ed Bodyboard, and Indie Hoffman in Girls Shortboard also all placed within the top 6 helping Marco Surf Team to our strong showing! We dodged a weather bullet big time! A few light sprinkles but mostly fair conditions despite the cold air. The team performed very well in 2-3 ft surf and came home with 6 trophies! The entire team pulled through with a 3rd place finish overall for the event.

Weather and waves were good and the Marco Surf Team delivered again with four more trophies - all in the Longboard Divisions. Marco placed 4th overall in team points for the event.

It was another great event and we bettered ourselves from the last one in terms of overall trophies with a total of 7. Here is how it played out for us with Indie Hoffman making it to the finals in both Girls Shortboard and Girls Longboard - and taking the win in Girls Longboard. Way to go team!
